Kidwatching

Kidwatching is a way for teachers to observe and document the actions and behaviors of their students in the classroom. Each teacher has their own way of documenting their student’s behaviors and reactions to assignments. It’s important for teachers to step back and reflect upon what is taking place in their classroom. This allows the teacher to get to know the way their students work and grasp concepts. It’s a way of learning about your students by watching and observing their actions and behavior. If you see something that needs to be changed this gives you a starting point for you as a teacher to make adjustments. It’s also a way for you to monitor your class as a whole. It’s important to see if any progress is taking place. It goes hand in hand with the cultural difference theory because you are taking a look at each student on a personal level. You are getting to know your student prior knowledge, progress, and growth.
